Hello Donna,We renovated the house at 10717 Bushire about 18 months ago.  We looked at the several options for dealing with lead pipes.  My wife is a contractor and has a great plumber if you want to talk to her.  Prices have been pretty elevated for awhile but not sure that much.

Hello Marilou,
I received the quote from Lightfoot Mechanical (817) 596-0309.  To replace line from the front of the house to one restroom in the far back corner, I need a 55' tunnel and they quoted $34k.  To replace the pipes to both bathrooms on that end of the house, it will be a 75' tunnel and they quoted $47.6k.
Thank you for sharing the information for C&C Plumbing; I'll reach out to them too.
Sincerely,Donna

We’re going the partial by partial route. The guy who did our first repair no longer is in business, but these people did the second repair and were very reasonable and professional. We highly recommend them.:

I’ve recommended them in the neighborhood email before. Curious to see if other neighbors have used them and liked them, too, as the last time we used them was 2019. They’ve been recommended on NextDoor, too.

Also, I’m curious who gave you that quote. Can you share?

Thank you,

Marilou Simon

Subject: [Neighbors] Eroding plumbing

Hello neighbors,

I've been told that some of the cast iron pipes under my home are starting to sag and crack.  Wastewater isn't draining properly because I have low spots where water is standing.  I have a tentative quote for $47k to excavate under the foundation to replace the failing pipes under only half my house. I was told three years ago, the quote would have been half that amount.

I've noticed several of you have already had to deal with this. Does anyone have knowledge to impart, referrals to share, or a bad experience and a company you want to warn me about?

Thank you in advance for any information you have to share!

Kind regards,

Donna Shattuck
