Neighbors,
FWIW, I almost wiped out a couple in dark clothing who were crossing at
Alta Vista recently. Daylight Savings makes things worse. Wear something
reflective or at least light.

My intentions were good but in retrospect she reacted appropriately by immediately departing the scene when I stopped.

By coincidence I encountered her twice, once when I turned off of Midway onto Meadowdale and was surprised to be so close behind someone walking eastbound on the street and the second time (presumably on a subsequent lap) when I met her as I drove westbound to a neighbors home on Meadowdale when I attempted to remind her of the long standing advice “if walking at night, wear something white or carry a light”. She was walking with traffic rather than against traffic (and I fully understand all the reasons it can be preferable) but I also know beyond doubt that a face is much more visible to oncoming traffic.
