[Neighbors] Water Work

Good morning everyone,
I realize you're experiencing this following the work completed by the city's contractors. What you're describing though, mirrors what happened to me last spring. After snaking the lines twice but still experiencing issues, I had five plumbing companies provide me with independent assessments and quotes. My understanding is that all the homes built in that era used cast iron pipes for the sewer lines. They degrade over time and can be replaced with pvc. All five companies founds decomposition in my pipes, causing low spots in the line, where waste would get caught. Water backed into the house, causing a toilet to overfill and spill onto the floor. I also heard bubbling in the toilet when I was running my washing machine.
I liked four of the companies that came out, but was most impressed with Herndon McFarland Plumbing (972) 960-9996. I continued to appreciate the quality of their work throughout the entire process. If you want an assessment, I think you'll find them to be professional, competent, and priced competitively.
Best of luck to all of you,Donna Shattuck4210 Royal Ridge Dr.

A few days ago, my husband noticed a puddle of water by the toilet in our master bath and was afraid that the toilet was leaking. However after cleaning it up, we haven’t noticed any more water on the floor. Reading these emails remind me that a neighbor reported that water sprayed out of their toilets when work was being done in the neighborhood. I hope this will not be a recurring issue in our neighborhood.

We had the same clogged issue too. We had a clogged toilet twice in a week. The plumber came out both times, snaked drains, used a camera and said our pipes look good. He cleared some toilet paper the second time but not sure if that was the real issue now?

We actually have plumbing issue too.Since few weeks, we have a toilet that looks clogged and making bubbles when the bathtub is draining. We had a plumber twice checking the pipes with his snake, but still the same issue.Next step, put a camera in the pipes to see what is happening.

Hi neighbors Referring to email string below, Did anyone experience this phenomena this evening? We had something similar this evening where we found water mysteriously around the toilet and a small amount of discolored water in the adjacent tub. Not seeing anybody working on plumbing in neighborhood.
Thanks.

All,
Councilperson Donnell-Willis and Sarah Standifer, Director of DWU, are dispatching someone to our neighborhood. Please email gay.willis at dallas.gov or text (214) 4223763 with your address as soon as possible if you have damage from the plumbing issues today and want someone from the city to address it.

We also have a clogged toilet. I’m hoping my husband can fix it tonight. The same company is in front of Good Shepherd right now.

Hi Libby, Sorry, I guess I missed something…what has been your experience for 5 months and what came down?
When I spoke the gentleman this morning he said that they were contracted by the city “to flush” the sewer lines. He then said that the toilets “burp."
We have one toilet that is now not functioning, like it is clogged, despite the usual efforts to unclog. UGH!
