Special kudos to our neighborhood ENP! Within 30 minutes, our ENP Officer called me back and had identified the vehicle. He was aware of the situation and assured me there was nothing to worry about. I don't have any more details but wanted to share.
Little plug....if you haven't joined ENP, it's not too late!

I'm just seeing these emails--I saw a car that matches that description drive slowly along Les Jardines, turn onto Bushire, and then take a left into the alley on Bushire. This was around 7:50am this morning.
Thanks!

Hi Neighbors,
Earlier this morning, Jennifer Coleman (who lives at the corner of Meadowdale and Les Jardins) saw the same blue car with the trunk propped open that Libby Toudouze emailed about yesterday, passing another car near her corner, window rolled down, and the driver of the blue car was yelling at another car passing by. Driver definitely did not seem “with it”. My Ring camera (I am at the other end of Meadowdale from Jennifer), picked him up driving by, towards Midway, at 10:18.
We have let the ENP know and have sent our camera footage!
But everyone just be on the lookout. Definitely odd and suspicious…

Subject: [Neighbors] SUSPICIOUS CAR ROAMING NEIGHBORHOOD Hello Neighbors,We had a car follow us home from Walmart. Family got out of car and I went to see if I could find him. Sure enough he was still around. We got license plate and called police. Once he realized I was on to him he took off down Meadowdale. Just want everone to be aware. He was going through Alleys too.

As an oldie of LJE , this warms my heart to think of the parade returning! 🇺🇸🥰
We used to have the parade led by a firetruck from the local station, with lights and sirens blasting, which was great fun for the kiddos. The truck and fire people would stay for a while at the end and visit with the kids and , I believe, let them climb up in the cab.
Thanks to all who are working to bring back a special tradition.

Ok all- please save the date for a 4th of July planning meeting on Monday, March 25 __ does everyone prefer evening? Should we say 7pm? I can also do morning if that is better for the group. Claire Collins

It's great to get so much nice feedback! I'm wondering if it makes sense to have a meeting (maybe after spring break) to discuss planning and get organized? I'm happy to host. Does this sound good to ya'll?Claire

We witnessed the last parade the year we moved into LJE. Must have been the summer of 2015 because my now 9 year old son was a baby. I think it could be fun to have kids participate in the parade somehow; decorate their bikes and ride the route maybe? I love that this is coming back together! I’m definitely not in a place to take on a major role here, but I’d be happy to contribute somehow to bringing this tradition back!

Vanessa,I was thinking we could start a parade maybe at the top of Les Jardin- at the intersection of Reumur and LJ? TBD. And then end in one of the cul-du-sacs where we could have a bounce house and maybe games (cake walk?) and grill burgers and hotdogs- nothing fancy. Truly pulling from childhood memories and not a previous iteration of what the neighborhood used to do.

Hi Claire,This sounds so fun! I’m not familiar with this event but would love to know more! We’ve been in the neighborhood almost 6 years so this tradition must’ve ended before we moved in. What are your general ideas for what will be included?
Thanks for bringing back this tradition!

Hi All!I realize by writing this I'm basically volunteering myself to get this going (which is fine) but I'd love to bring back a 4th of July parade/celebration to our neighborhood! I know it seems early, but summer will be here before we know it and since I've never done anything like this... starting early seems wise. Would anyone like to join me in getting this going?? Particularly you cul-de-sac neighbors- it would be ideal to end the parade in one of the circles and do a little block party. thoughts?
